Privacy Policy

Overview

Blue News Network ("the App") transforms Bluesky posts that you select into an AI-generated, broadcast-style audio newscast. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and — most importantly — what the App does not do with your data.

We built this App with privacy as a core design principle: all AI script generation and text-to-speech processing happens entirely on your device. No account is required to use the App, and no user data is transmitted to us or stored on any server we control.

Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to any personal information about you. Specifically:

• No account or sign-in required. You do not need a Bluesky account, an account with us, or any other credentials to use the App.
• No analytics or tracking. The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising identifiers, or behavioral tracking.
• No data leaves your device. The selection of posts, the AI-generated newscast script, the synthesized audio, and any related processing all occur locally on your device using on-device AI models. We have no servers that receive, log, or process this content.

How the App Works

1. Selecting posts: You browse and select public posts from Bluesky within the App.
2. Fetching content: To display and select posts, the App connects directly to Bluesky's public servers (the AT Protocol) to retrieve the post content you request. This connection is made directly from your device to Bluesky — it does not pass through, or get logged by, any server we operate. Your use of Bluesky's services is subject to Bluesky's own Privacy Policy.
3. On-device generation: The App's on-device AI writes a newscast-style script based on the posts you selected and converts that script to audio using on-device text-to-speech — without any of this content being sent to us or any third party.
4. Playback and storage: Any generated audio or scripts are stored locally on your device (e.g., in the App's local storage or your device's file system) and are only accessible to you, unless you choose to export or share them yourself.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your Bluesky credentials, handle, or account data (none is needed)
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data
• The content of the posts you select or the newscasts you generate
• Usage analytics, crash logs sent to us, or behavioral data

Third-Party Services

The only external service the App communicates with is Bluesky's public API, used solely to retrieve publicly available posts that you choose to select. We do not control Bluesky's servers and are not responsible for their data practices. We encourage you to review Bluesky's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle requests to their service.

The App does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or other third-party data collection tools.

Data Sharing

Because we do not collect any data, we have nothing to share, sell, or disclose to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

Data Security

Since all processing and storage happen on your device, the security of your data is governed by your device's own security features (such as passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and iOS's app sandboxing). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and since we do not collect any personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App can be used to generate content based on posts from Bluesky (a service with its own age requirements), please refer to Bluesky's terms regarding age eligibility.

Your Rights

Because the App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, delete, or export on your behalf under regulations such as the GDPR or CCPA. Any data generated by the App exists only locally on your device, and you have full control to delete it at any time by deleting the content within the App or removing the App itself.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
